Our Equipment
At Ferguson Land Surveying & Geomatics, we believe in staying up to date with the most current technology. Our state of the art Leica equipment including Robotic Total Stations, Real Time Kinematic GPS, and a Digital Level allows us to complete jobs efficiently and accurately.
Leica TPS 1201 – Fully Robotic Total Station
The robotic total station allows for ONE operator to carry out most jobs. This saves time and costs.
Angular Accuracy: 1”
Distance Accuracy: 2 mm + 2 ppm
Reflectorless Accuracy: 3 mm + 2 ppm
Leica GPS 1200 – Real Time Kinematic
We have 2 rover units that connect and receive differential corrections from our continuously running base station which is mounted on the roof of our building. Our base and rover are also GLONASS capable (can track Russian satellites for increased coverage and accuracy).
Real Time Accuracies (Kinematic):
Horizontal: 10 mm + 1 ppm
Vertical: 20mm + 1 ppm
Static Accuracies (Post Processing):
Horizontal: 5 mm + 0.5 ppm
Vertical: 10 mm + 0.5 ppm
Leica Digital Level – DNA10
When it comes to high precision leveling, a digital level is the only way to go. This digital level automatically takes precise measurements by scanning the bar code on the leveling rod. This eliminates a majority of the user error associated with leveling and speeds things up dramatically.
Accuracy:
Individual measurement: 0.1 mm
1 km double-run: 1.5mm
Modern Techniques

Modern Surveying Techniques:
Land Surveying and Geomatics measuring techniques have drastcially changed in the last few decades. New technologies have increased the efficiency, accuracy, and the applications for modern day surveys.
One of most influential technologies to Land Surveying and Geomatics has been the introduction of Global Navigation Satellite System’s (GNSS). The most familiar and also the only fully operational GNSS is the United States Global Positioning System (GPS).
